Hello, I’m Hannah.
As a psychologist I have been fortunate to shape my practice by acknowledging and honouring the unique and individual experiences, strengths, challenges and stories of each of the clients I have worked with. I value the strength and courage that comes with simply turning up to your first appointment. The therapeutic relationship forms the cornerstone of my work as a therapist and I believe in creating a safe and meaningful relationship to meet the challenges that may come with your healing journey. In my sessions, I work hard to bring compassion, warmth, understanding, stability, acknowledgement, connection and appreciation.
I encourage and support clients to build an understanding and awareness of their unique experiences, needs, and behaviours to best facilitate change in their own lives. I respect everyone’s ability to be the expert of their own experiences and my focus is to assist to empower clients to make the choices and changes to live a valued and meaningful life. Therapy can provide a valuable opportunity to identify needs, develop helpful resources and practical skills, celebrate strengths; and feel supported and empowered toward forward movement.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in a trauma-informed framework where I acknowledge the impact and influences of our past and current adverse life events on our life experiences and wellbeing. Through the therapeutic relationship we will draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based practice, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-focused practice, Attachment Theory; and psychoeducation. I am also able to offer Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
My areas of interest include:
PTSD and Complex PTSD
Anxiety and stress disorders
Mood disorders
Sexual assault and abuse counselling
Adolescent mental health
Identity and Self-esteem
Grief and Loss
Adjustment and transition difficulties
Chronic health conditions
Self-esteem and self-confidence difficulties

When I am not at work you will typically find me escaping to the beach or enjoying all things sports with my family and friends.
I am a firm believer that we do not always have to see the glass as half empty or half full, but at times the simplest and kindest starting point is to acknowledge and accept there is a glass with water. We all deserve acceptance of self, safety and kindness in our lives, and I would love to work with you to move toward your goals.
