Hi there, I’m Joyce.

My interest in psychology began when I initially thought learning about psychology would help me answer the question I was often asked growing up – “Are you and your twin sister telepathic?” However, when I delved deeper into the field of psychology, I became deeply curious about the workings of the mind and was interested to understand why individuals behaved the way they do.

I am highly passionate and involved in sport, which led me to pursuing psychology in sport and exercise. From there I became intrigued by how theories and concepts in psychology could be applied in performance-based settings. I have had the privilege of supporting athletes competing at international competitions such as World Cups and World Championships, as well as Major Games such as the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and the Olympic Games.

I believe that individuals are inherently motivated to learn, grow, and change to pursue rich and meaningful lives. However, the pursuit can be challenging, and therapy provides individuals with a dedicated, safe space for them to process and navigate through their difficulties.

As a Psychologist, I am committed to optimising individuals’ mental wellbeing, recovery, and performances across different aspects of their lives and aim to empower individuals to become the best versions of themselves.

I work from a client-centered, and collaborative approach, drawing out unique strengths and experiences to provide personalised support for all of my clients.

I draw from a range of therapeutic frameworks, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.

I’d like to think that I am an approachable and genuine practitioner who is respectful, playful, and creative in my therapeutic style. I enjoy working with individuals aged 18 years old and above, and have provided support to individuals from a range of cultural backgrounds. I am from Singapore and can speak English and Mandarin.

My areas of interest include:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Grief and loss

  • Acute trauma/stress

  • Disordered eating

  • Performance

  • Self-harm and suicidal ideation

Outside of work, I try to be active and enjoy running, bush-walking, and yoga. During the netball season, you’ll find me umpiring at the courts. I also like learning about different cultures and I’m attempting to learn Japanese so I can better appreciate my visits to Japan.

It is an honour and privilege to bear witness to your journey and life story. I look forward to meeting you at Little Window.
