I have always been drawn to other people’s stories, and fascinated by the inner workings of the mind. I am a caring, detail-oriented, intuitive and sensitive person, compelled to connect with the people I work with in a meaningful way, and on a deeper level.

Counselling for me is all about having a safe relationship in which you can examine and express your truth, and show up exactly as you are. I strive to help you feel seen and heard, and will meet you with compassion wherever you are in your emotions in the moment. I also enjoy bringing in lightness, ease and laughter into sessions.

I regularly engage in counselling for myself, which is an important part of my self-care and development, and believe that learning, growing and evolving is a life-long process. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of therapy, finding strength in vulnerability, and the freedom of being able to accept and honour all parts of yourself.

Neuroscience has taught us that the mind is encapsulated not only in the head; it exists throughout the whole body. As a holistic Psychologist I am interested in how you can learn to listen to the wisdom and cues of your inner knowing, beyond just what your thoughts tell you.

My counselling style draws from Attachment Theory, Person Centred Therapy, Neuropsychotherapy, Trauma-informed Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Creative Therapies. The therapeutic connection we form and the approach that I take will be unique to each individual.

I tend to take more of a person-led, relaxed and conversational approach to my sessions, however I can also be analytical, strategic and targeted where needed. A lot of the people I work with see me long-term, and come in and out of therapy over the years as they need it. I am a big believer of counselling being an ongoing process throughout your lifetime of discovery and support; having someone who knows you and who cares about you, who you can check in with from time-to-time.

I am trained in expressive therapies, so if you do not feel comfortable talking, we can explore alternative ways of communicating and working through your concerns using mediums such as art, music, dream and symbol work, and movement. I am also experienced in Non-directive Child-Centred Play Therapy with children. All of these modalities are creative and gentle, yet powerful ways to explore different parts of yourself that enhance self-awareness, make the unconscious, conscious, and create significant internal shifts.

I see you as the person who is the expert in your experiences and in your life, and in therapy with me, we work from a feminist model of therapy in which we take into account how societal systems impact on your emotional well-being, the roles you play in your relationships, and your identity ~ for all genders.

My areas of interest include:

  • Anxiety

  • Women’s issues

  • Highly Sensitive People (HSPs)

  • Sexual abuse and assault

  • Sexuality

  • Pregnancy, pregnancy loss, post-natal mental health, parenting and attachment

  • Family separation

  • Childhood issues

  • Cultural sensitivity and the impact of racism

  • Identity and self-esteem concerns

  • Grief and loss

  • Spiritual-related health and wellness

  • Adolescent mental health

I have a special interest in working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

Alongside being a therapist I am a mother, HSP, introvert, foodie, nature and arts appreciator, and I love conversations about all topics metaphysical. It is the human to human connection in therapy that makes Little Window more than just a workplace for me; it is a creative extension of me, and where I can authentically express myself. I have really enjoyed the process of creating this therapy space and paying attention to how each room feels for people. We have aimed to create an atmosphere where we can drop deeply into safety and comfort, each time we arrive for a session.

Counselling is an opportunity to invest in yourself, and take care of your mental health and sense of overall well-being. I welcome you into a safe and enriching therapy space, to help you unfold and nurture your unique strengths and inner wisdom, guiding you towards experiencing more freedom, self-kindness, fulfillment and peace within yourself. I look forward to working with you at Little Window.
